We had grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch today. Comfort food for a comfortable place. I love it here.
Class went well this morning, despite another unprecedented late night. All our hard work parsing Ephesians finally started paying off. The lecture was so much more engaging and deeper because of the time we'd spent with the text since Monday (I'm writing this Thursday night/Friday morning).
In the afternoon, Dan and I went to the Gym. He taught me how to do trapezoid lifts, core pain, and a couple other things. I'm going to be moving into the guy's staff house across the hallway from him for a night or two tomorrow, apparently someone with 10 kids is coming to visit and they need the room. I don't mind at all.
This evening, I went with Jonathan to the Whatcom County Fair. He's involved with an organization called Reasonable Faith, and every year they host a booth where they open up the conversation with passers-by about God. Reasonable Faith is primarily focused on providing logical, factual arguments for the existence of Yahweh, but Jonathan likes to tell people about Jesus when he can. It was a great way to spend a few hours, getting to know him better and interacting with people. There was a lady named Michael who stopped in and introduced herself "Like Queen Michael"... She had recently lost her husband, and we were able to connect over our grief after I mentioned that my mother, too, was recently widowed.
In the car yesterday on the way to Bellingham, Dan and I found a Hindi radio station, turned up the bass on the equalizer, and freestlye rapped over the artists. 10/1o experience. We also stopped at Costco and Walmart.
SOMEDAY I will start writing before 1:00 a.m. and everything will flow cohesively. Not tonight, though.
Not tonight.
