I told myself I'd write every night. Starting this at 12:49 a.m. after a 3 hour phonecall with a friend wasn't what I planned on, but I'm not too worried. Habits start with small consistencies, so I don't have to write much. Also, my comma key on my laptop is completely fallen apart. I really ought to replace it.
Today I wasn't as wiped as I was Monday, which was great. It was easier to engage in class, easier to work out with Dan (albeit more intense) and less of a fight to stay awake.
Ephesians is coming along quite nicely in STS, the program I'm doing right now. The homeschool Latin diagramming that I didn't really expect to use again has been a major asset in understanding how to do the classwork. One of these days I'll give you an explanation, but for now here's Ephesians 1:1-10 for a sneak peek:
1:1 From Paul,
an apostle of Christ Jesus
by the will of God,
to the saints
[in Ephesus],
the faithful in Christ Jesus.
2 Grace and
Peace
to you
from God our Father and
the Lord Jesus Christ!
1:3 Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us
with every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly realms
in Christ.
4 For
he chose us
in Christ
before the foundation of the world
that we should be holy and
blameless
before him
in love.
5 He did this
by predestining us
to adoption
as his legal heirs
through Jesus Christ,
according to the pleasure of his will—
6 to the praise of the glory of his grace
that he has freely bestowed
on us
in his dearly loved Son.
7 In him
we have redemption
through his blood,
the forgiveness of our offenses,
according to the riches of his grace
8 that he lavished on us
in all wisdom and insight.
9 He did this
when he revealed to us the mystery of his will,
according to his good pleasure that he set forth
in Christ,
10 toward the [plan] of the fullness of the times,
to head up all things
in Christ
—the things in heaven
and
the things on earth.
It's pretty neat, more than a little arbitrary, and far more about the journey than the destination. It's a great time being in class with both staff from my school and staff I don't know super well yet. The latter I'm enjoying spending time with and bouncing ideas off of, the former I'm learning to embrace the different dynamic with. They're my friends now, but in a way that's an equal call to maturity that their DTS authority was.
Yes, it's a short post, but I need to go to bed. I'm doubting the integrity of the chain lock on my room door that's standing between me and a 5:00 a.m. gym session.
Ciao
